This is just a brief interim report on the work carried out by the Uganda Project Team. We give thanks to God for answered prayer and blessing for our time in Uganda and we bring you greetings from our friends Vivian at Wakisa Ministries and Rita at Dwelling Places, both in Kampala, as well as from Roger Annett at New Beginnings in Nagasongola.

Both of the aforementioned ladies were overwhelmed by the generosity of the people from Kilkeel and wish to thank everyone, and praise God for the gifts you sent out to them. We were delighted to be able to deliver the gifts to the girls at Wakisa, and before we had left they had started to make blankets for their babies from the woollen squares you knitted for them. Every gift you sent out was needed and very much appreciated.
I would also like to thank every one for their help in raising the money to carry out the work we did over the past few weeks. A special thank you must go to the team who worked really hard to complete the different jobs, which have made a vast difference to the lives of the people in Wakisa and Dwelling Places.

We had to split the team into three groups; one worked at Dwelling Places carrying out electrical repairs, rewiring and painting of the Administrative building. Stephen had also an opportunity to have Bible studies and do pastoral work with some of the young adults and Street children. Another group worked at the Buloba farm building a wash-house and toilet block, and setting up a water gathering system.

The final group worked at Wakisa where they built a new laundry for the girls, partitioned a room to accommodate the House Mother and new young mothers. The old House Mother's room will now become a doctor's examination room. This group also rewired the building, refurbished the kitchen areas, tiled and fitted out a shower and toilet block, and did a lot of painting and repair work. We also had some time and opportunities to interact with the girls and children.

Dr Poots was also part of the team and he treated a lot of people, both children and adults, at all the locations in which we were working, as well as others in the slums of Kampala.
Some of the team were able to visit Roger Annett at New Beginnings and were amazed by what he has achieved and what he is doing for many of the homeless children. He has given them an opportunity to have a home and family as well as getting an education. Perhaps this is a work we could help to support in the future.
It is difficult to highlight all of the things we accomplished in Uganda but we soon plan to bring you a detailed report and presentation of the work we carried out, as well as sharing our full African experience. Watch this space!
